Default New custom stainless cat back duplex exhaust on redfive

Some pics of the new custom made stainless cat back duplex exhaust made and fitted by MIJ Performance Exhaust Systems yesterday on redfive. Top service from them again. They also done the full stainless manifold back exhaust on my typhoon zt about 6 years ago so returned to have this one done.

The owner Jay is pretty familiar with MGs and already knew about the bumper heat shields on our cars (asked if I already had one for the driver's side when I rang him for a quote before I'd even mentioned it) and had already thought about what size ovals would suit and what angle to fit them (against the bumper/ heat shields) before we'd arrived. Recommended two sizes and we opted for the larger size and went ahead with his recommendation of having the tail pipes angled otherwise the outside side of the ovals stuck out way too far (something I hadn't considered before).

Very quick turn around as well, made a start on it around 9:45am and was already done and off the ramps at midday (had two guys working on it).

Always put a shout out for any business/service that does a superb job for me. MIJ's I personally can't recommend enough.

Here's some pics:

Nice job Rick. Exhaust outlets look very much the part. I also like the tail lights. I'm guessing that's stainless steel mesh on the front? Was it custom cut by someone?

Cheers Martin

Ian G on here done the stainless front mesh when he owned the car, I believe the mesh is from a Jaguar.

Hi Rick, both your cars look good with the duplex exhausts.
Can I just ask is there a back box on the drivers side? if so how and where did you relocate the fuel cooler to or did MIJ sort that out?
I'm after a duplex on my diesel - using the back boxes of my 260 but have no idea where to move the cooler to. Cheers Steve

Cheers

On this set up there aren't any back boxes as one central silencer has been fitted. However with the fuel cooler moved out of the way there's plenty of space for a back box on the driver's side.

On the typhoon I had dummy back boxes fitted as it was originally a straight through system (asked for dummy back boxes at the time for MOT reasons) but it was way too loud (surprised us how loud it was for a diesel) so a central silencer was fitted afterwards same as on redfive.
