Does anyone know what this engine code relates to please?

K=K series
4=4 valves per cylinder
F=multi point injection with cat
N31=Build configuration
Probably the 160

If the 8th digit in the VIN is an "E" it's a 160, if the 8th digit is an "F" it's a 190

I'm still none the wiser as to what this engine is and what it was fitted to, it has a gearbox code 20X44 which wasn't fitted to these cars either.

Possibly a Zs 180?

Hi Dave . Seems like you have a mongrel? 2005 first reg was it. No expert but could it just be one that was towards the end run of things and they were using up anything they could in the last built motors.

I have 2 Dave, neither appear to be what they should, and one from around 2001 on, I don’t know about the other, I’m wondering if they are land rover engines, or at least one of them.
