Fiat Strada anyone , but the Rancho was a Simca 1100 in drag

I think the main issue was your 'true enthusiast' comment. Touch of the keyboard warrior there and not nice.
No keyboard warrior intended Monty, I've not been one or ever will be but anyone who knows these cars know the Tourers do have on average command a £1,000 premium

er, that's a Talbot Sunbeam rally car? The Ti and Lotus examples of those can get good money - there's a Hethel-engined one on there for nearly £30k - because they are considered to be desirable. So your point of mentioning it was what exactly?

A decent Mk11 3.8 Jag goes for £10.000, and concurs close to £20,000

The 260 is considered desirable, the standard 75/ZT is not considered desirable (at the moment) that's why there cheap, and as you say a Hethel engine'd Talbot is desirable, but the standard sunbeam/Horizon thingy is not! That's my point!

I'm off to fit my Black Olive now! and then take a load of rubbish to the tip in the Berlingo!

Prices are not due to rarity. They down to whether they are desirable. As I stated and you then proved. Which was nice of you to do.

Ok, I think we know what we both mean, let's be glad to be priveledged and proud to drive these great cars, whatever their value!

Your just mot advisory stated noise on rear hubs.

So in the end it went for around £5k wasn't a write off and went to someone who will get it back up to scratch. Good story
Ah...that was me winding the handbrake shoes up a little to ensure they worked well enough for the MOT. Sorted that straight after!

How do you know what advisories there were anyway? Is that available online?

Of course that's all rubbish as the original add stated the car was 'written off'. The Cat D bit was added as a clarification.

And why if between the 3rd and the 4th he bought another carthen why did he continue to bid after that.

A very poor attempt to withdraw from the sale without accepting responsibility for the fact he cocked it all up.

Pity I cannot feed this info back to other Ebay member as he is a big ebay trader.
