Rusty Sills
My tourer is now showing rust in the nearside sill adjacent to the jacking point.
I am worried that the sill may give way when jacking the car at that side. Is it necessary to replace the whole sill or can a body shop just cut out the rusty bit and weld in a new section? Anybody had this done? Any idea of the cost for a repair or replacement? |

Use a piece of sill from a scrap 75, the match will be much better than if you use sheet steel.

Afraid there are no pattern parts for the sill available.

I'm surprised that none of the after market press companies have yet come up with replacement sills for the 75 / MG. Surely there's enough demand? When you think that you can get complete full sill sections and/or just over sills for most 60s/70/80s/90s cars then why not for our 75s? The market for sills for the 1937-49 Rover sills must only be in the hundreds at best, yet these are available, so why not for the thousands of our cars?. Have any or our spares guys looked into this?
