Been out to dinner tonight with Matt Darke aka Cable Tie, it’s his 50th birthday. Family and friends.
Took Banana for the 100 mile round trip, and she clicked over onto 203,000 as well.

Morning all.

Grey and overcast this morning.

Everything has now returned to normal here. Central heating now works, kitchen cleaned and everything put back and out to to get some shopping.

Morning campers - it may well be that Spring is just around the corner, but by 'eck there's a wind out there still cold enough to freeze yer lugs off. My next door neighbour, a widow, has asked if I can install a couple of solar powered, infra-red, LED security lights she's bought. They're "JML EverBrite" by name - and utterly useless by nature. They switch on through local movement, and as the movement gets closer, the brightness intensifies. At their maximum brightness, they wouldn't even appeal to a desperate glow worm - don't buy any

That's a bit of a bugr. Hadn't seen my mechanic mate for a while so popped in, mainly to see if he had an O ring that would fit the lid of my other half's work thermos! Chris has stopped working on cars, had to, fifty plus years bent over and under cars has done for his back. He took a break a while ago then, as a favour, changed the plugs in a friend's Corsa, he was almost in tears by the time he bolted the engine cover down again. Still has his taxi meter business (fitting, repairs etc), working on boat engines (he's right next to the harbour) but cars no more.

There's another mechanic nearby, I know him but never dealt with him myself other than when I was helping my mate with his taxi business but Chris says he is good so I'll see him next time I need something "straightforward" done. Still use Dunc for the more MGR specific stuff.
