Default Rover 75 Connoissuer 1.8 auto Cowley car "Bones" **SOLD**

Rover 75 Cowley Connie 1.8 auto “Bones”

For sale is the much talked about “Bones”. She is a 99 reg Cowley car in Old English White and has been a project for me over the last 18 months or so. She has a replacement engine recently rebuilt and fitted by Andy Brown (Trikey), along with the obligatory belts and water pump etc. A replacement ECU from marianbrian, new drop links, new front discs and pads, new rad cap, new battery, new windscreen. All scuttle retainers have been replaced, stainless handbrake mod, plenum spyhole mod, bonnet release mod, tyre protectors, replacement PPD carpet and much more.

The rear sections of her sills have been cut out, re-fabricated and fitted by a professional car restorer/panel beater and I have photographs of the work.

She has a very nice full chrome grille, walnut gear select, walnut wheel, and is fitted with a working WINCE that has Bluetooth, sat nav, CD/SD card functions etc.

Mileage is about 150k, but obviously not on the current engine! MOT until the end of January and two keys.

The paintwork is very good for her age and she polishes up well, but please don’t expect concourse!

Up to this point it may not seem it, but I have spent over £2500 on this car.

The bad bits: Bones has a few jobs to finish her off. I recently had an ABS sensor on along with the brakes, it took the light off, but I am now getting feedback at low speed, so she probably needs a bearing as well. Due to the engine work, the aircon needs re-gassing, and the gear selector needs adjusting as it sometimes goes into neutral not drive unless you press the button. I spoke to Trikey about this and he says it just needs fettling after the engine change – he did tell me how, but I didn’t feel confident! Finally, the heater matrix could do with changing. I have a replacement to come with the car, along with other spares for a 1.8 I will no longer need.

I am only selling Bones and my Contemporary as I can’t afford to have a drive full of cars, and I have decided to take on my brother’s’ ZT which has been standing since he passed away last year.

Any questions please ask or PM for e-mail or phone number, looking for a sensible £600ono.
