Morning early risers - today is the last 'daft o'clock' school run of 2020 for me - bliss!
I can't tell you what the weather is like out there - it's still pitch black. Suffice to say it's not raining but it's not very warm either.

Thank you Andy, thank you very much for replying and explaining about the delays. My current debit card expires the end of January so I have a bit more time to wait for it and organise a courier to bring it out to Nairobi.

When I was 16, I did a holiday job delivering the mail over Christmas, earning £10 per week. In those days the post office had extra staff brought in for season. I am guessing with Covid, they cant do that.

Have a great day

Yuk - it's now hammering it down, backed by a gusty strong wind. I think I'll get granddaughter Sophie to school and go home - to bed!

Morning all, sat at work having coffee before the working day begins, it’s dry at the moment here but rain has been forecast.

Same here 50 miles north of you Rod, I’m cleaning gutter out today,so doesn’t matter that it’s raining. Just makes it unpleasant.

Not in a particularly good place this morning, the nearer it gets to Xmas day I am thinking more about the family that I no longer see at Xmas, my dad and my aunt, the year before my dad passed away he came to us for Xmas day. We always went to my aunt’s usually the day after Boxing Day with mum. Although mum will be coming to us for Xmas day,she isn’t the same as she used to be with dementia taking a lot of her short term memory away. Although it tends to dissipate the more people she sees and speaks to. Atm she only sees the carers twice a day,a close friend once a week and me once a week. Due to the p o xy virus, no one can go and see her, she is not getting to church every week like she used to,so she is not speaking to anyone at length each day. She turns 88 today and we will be going to see her tonight.

Morning all.

Damp and dismal here.

Rich and indeed everyone. Christmas is going to be very odd this year. All we can do is to do our best to help and support our family and friends by whatever means and methods we have available to us.

Take care and enjoy whatever you are able to do.

Cool

Had a lay in this morning, very unusual for me.

So, good morning everyone.

The storm hit us last night, but has stopped raining now.

Yeah, there's a cloud over the four cottages here just now. The old boy next door, his wife passed away recently (not the virus) and the other old couple at the other end are going through a difficult time as well. His legs are knackered and he has problems even just getting around the house, his wife has deteriorating dementia and requires more and more care, it's got to the point that he is now talking about a nursing home.

Tired! Up at five because my other half is dayshift (nurse), organise her food etc. I try going back to bed but can never really settle again.
