That's quit interesting.
The fact that it was initially displayed, then disapeared would indicate that the Nav is looking for a status announcement from the IKE (cluster). If the announcement is not seen after a certain time or number of power cycles, the option is removed. |

I had a similar experience after fitting my mk4 GPS, it showed a phone and DSP for a couple of times then seemed to realise they weren't there and removed the options.

I wonder if it's just a case of changing a parameter of the Hexidecimal code using the BMW scanner software in the same way that you can change a 20 to a 21 to obtain the digital speedo option.
Of course, which bit of code could be anyone's guess. Though perhaps a side by side comparison of the values of a non Trip computer IPK and a later compatible Trip computer IPK might show some clues |

Update,
So after visiting Trikey (Andy) in my lunch break my tv/satnav screen now shows the trip details even though the retro fitted setup was all connected correctly the car did not "know" it was there we discovered when connected to T4 so Andy "told" the car using the T4, now it's all happy and working so a big thank you to Andy Next jobbie is fitting the digibox and getting the TV up and working Slowly-slowly getting there |

Digital Sound Processor, it's a multi channel power amp with a computer to set the frequency response of each channel. It lets them put the same amp in an X5 as a 3 or 5 series and alter the program to match the cars acoustics. I toyed with the idea of fitting one instead of the Harmon Kardon but it needs individual wiring to every speaker and tweeter in the car. I think it also gives a more comprehensive tone control from the menu too. There are three different manufacturers and not all are as good as each other.
