Better keep quiet about the probes, some on here might be sending funny signals into outer space hoping its their turn next.

The truth is out there, ask Scully, she has returned as Maggie Thatcher

Thoughts - and physical exercise - now turned to alcohol. Farmer mate has just delivered tons (not really tons, but a heck of a lot!) of sloes, so they need pricking, stalks removing, and added to bottles of gin with copious amounts of sugar. End result - extremely strong sloe gin

Had snow overnight, still lying on the Pentland Hills and over in Fife, wee bit lying around the garden.

Just back from MOT'ing the Kia Niro & the dash temp 3C display kept warning of ice but no snow, still raining though. I was reading about Fife whilst sat in the waiting room!

Around 300 homes in Fife are going to be fitted with free hydrogen boilers, heaters, and cooking appliances to be used for more than four years in the largest — and world’s first — test of whether green hydrogen could advance Britain’s net zero goals. The houses will be fitted out from the end of 2022.

mmmmm - my Honda CRV has just failed it's pre-MOT check - big leak from steering rack.
A total bill, including new steering rack, service, MOT etc. - in excess of £2,500 !!!!!!!!.
Time to trade in I reckon - they've offered me £2,500 (untested with known faults!) against a Honda HRV 1.6 DCi - so I add £10,000 and come away with a 3.5 year old car with 38k on the clock. Off to see it in the morning - they've recommended that I don't drive the CRV because of the amount of oil flying around - so my son comes into his own as a taxi.
That's the wife's Xmas present sorted out

Boilers are a sore point at the moment, hot water packed in, did some internet enquiries and everything pointed to the flow sensor which fires the boiler when hot water is asked for. Heating ok and the boiler was still cycling the comfort setting, keeping some water hot for immediate use but the hot water "on demand" wasn't kicking in. Neighbour recommended an engineer, he said it was the flow meter, replaced it, that's it done. He went away, I went to wash a pan a couple of hours later, hot water to start with then ran cold again. Sent him a message that (Saturday) afternoon, before I got a reply the invoice arrived by email so I replied that I'd sent a message that it still ain't right. Said the message hadn't come through and he'd phone shortly, that was around 10:30 this morning, nowt yet. Thankfully we have an electric shower and with the help of a jug can use that for the bathroom sink.
