Can't tell you off hand what the make was as they were taken at my camera club using their lighting equipment and wireless triggers.
I had a go with a few settings whilst the wife was putting her make-up on. Not to your standards buddy, but the lighting tips worked well!

In number 4 shot Jeff, how did you take out the background? I would like to add this effect to some of my bird photos where the background is too distracting.

Hi Phil,

All done 'in' camera Sir.

The model was sat on a chair in a normally lit room about 10ft away from the wall and window behind her.
The wall is a magnolia colour and the windows had the curtains closed which are of a beige and red print colour.

I exposed my camera for the wall and curtains behind, setting it so it was completely underexposed and appears as a black shot.

Then re composed for the model and shot with the above settings so the only light lighting the subject was the off camera flash firing into a soft box which was pointing down to a reflector that the model had in her lap.
This bounced the flash light back on to her face. This left the background still completely removed with only the model lit.

That left me just to edit the image of the model and not having to worry about cloning out the background etc.

Used the same technique out in the open in daylight for this cat photo with the cat in front of a garden shed

Hope that helps
