Tourer parking sensors .......
Hi I've had my car nearly 5 years now and in all that time it's parking sensors have never worked. There is no long beep when I select reverse. Or faint clicking from any of the sensors.

I assume that since its been 5 years you have reversing lights as a broken reversing switch gives that symptom but with the added joy of no reversing lights.

Just seen its an auto. That's something I've never had so don't know if my suggestion applies.

Hi yes I need help otherwise I wouldn't be asking on here lol. My reverse lights work ok. Would a t4 be able to locate the problem. I want to get them working as my wife sometimes struggles with parking in tight spaces.

I fixed mine today but that was just a broken wire at the rear connector plug inside the bumper but it made a long beep to tell me it was broken. I've not tried it with plug disconnected. Might be worth a look up under rear bumper and find the plug and check its connected. It's on drivers side of rear about quarter of the way in.

Hello there. I am sure neither Colvert nor I wish to offend you with our flippant remarks , but as neither of us can offer a solution to your problem , at least we are keeping this thread open , so that hopefully someone with far greater knowledge will see it in the near future . Good luck .

Check the connectors in the rear offside of the boot. Behind the carpeted panel. They are just push connectors. Worth checking they are tight and free of corrosion. It had crossed my mind that the ‘beeper’ is defective, as mine was, although if you say there’s definitely no clicking coming from the sensors with reverse engaged then it’s less likely.

Replacing with a cheap aftermarket system is easy! A few members have done this including myself as it was safer than trying to replace the sounder in the instrument cluster. Mk1 cars have the sounder in the boot.
