The best thing about buying one as a summer car, is that you will have all winter to fix it!

Ive had the tf 160 and been out many times in mx5s.
The MX5 is like a blunt instrument whereas the MGTF was like a precision instrument. Id go MG TF every time-I had so much more fun in the MG TF than I did in the mx5. Just beware what type tyres you have on as they are very finicky. |

There was a post last week asking what car is a suitable replacement for the 75s and ZTs, at first I was considering changing my ZT-T at the end of the year when I sell my Santa Fe but to be honest I don't really want to yet at the same time I'm getting itchy feet for another motor so I think I am going to end up buying another car to go with my ZT-T.... I quite like the MG Fs and TFs, what are they like power wise as I want something at least 200bhp (yes I am trying at keeping up with the Joneses but I am 40 in a couple of years so it's now or never lol).

ENDED UP REALISING IT REALLY ISN'T PRACTICAL NOT HAVING A CAR TO GET AROUND AND I NOW OWN A VW EOS 3.2 V6 INDIVIDUAL (1 OF 20 REMAINING IN THE UK WITH THAT ENGINE AND TRIM COMBO) EVEN THOUGH I STILL LIVE ON A BUSY ROAD WITHOUT A DRIVE |

160bhp is the highest standard output. A ZandF remap adds about 7'ish bhp. |
