It makes you wonder how an oil filled sump rusts from the inside

Here's that Sierra that lives down the road from the shop.
Still in use every day by its owner

I had a 1.8 cvh from 3 years old. It was very thirsty on short trips (my record low was 180 miles from 60 litres). Comfortable and economical on long journeys. Just couldn't get it back on a skid pan with my instructor applying the handbrake, but I could when I induced the slide and I never had a big moment driving on public roads. Written off at 13 years old by some numpty speeding through traffic lights that weren't working and hitting the nearside B pillar.

Well Eifion came down to mine today to see if we could rent a unit to repir and collect classic cars.

if all works well i should be tinkering with plenty of Ford Sierra's and his dad's MK1 Ford Cortina.

Tried to get Eifion to give up one of his Sierra's, talk about a battle he would not sell any of them, he's got 6 of'em.

All running, I was after his 2.0L pinto, that would be a great Motorsport project or just keep it as a road car.

I'm not giving up, I bet I can get it out of him some how.
