Given the popularity of the Vulcan I wonder what made Rolls Royce and BAE Systems pull the plug on their backing?

Money i would think not enough in it for them to be interested.

They only had 6 x engines and they've been rotating them over the years and as I understand they've come to the end of their life. They have literally scoured the planet for replacement engines to no avail and it's far too expensive to commission the build of new engines so it's game over

The airframe itself is sound.
