Bought a cheap gearbox switch so I can take it apart and check the wiring. Now need to piggy back some wires and prepare the cabling for the new lever - and buy the new lever of course.

I have used snow mode in the snow, but in the 7 years I have had the car, I have never had a reason to use the "sports" mode.
Treading on the go faster pedal hard gives you sportier responses anyway, give your car some serious welly, and you will find it soon wakes up.... ... |

Stays in gear longer and does not go into lock up mode in sport.
Starts in scond and changes earlier in snow mode.

Ford do an auto-shift lever with an overdrive button already fitted. Not expensive either. Needs to be sent from the US though as they are for cars that are not usually seen over here. |

I've just bought a mini button SPST momentary 12mm switch and I'll start fitting it to the existing lever, just need to figure out how and where to drill on the gear lever head.
It will act as the Sport mode activation button. |
