Cheers well, it got through its MOT fine – into my 7th year of ownership now. I got this car following 3 Beemers (last two were M3’s) as a conscious move away from being a boy racer, now that it’s a long time since I was a boy

It was a hell of an adjustment, going from a 320bhp machine with no suspension to a very laid back diesel, but I’ve SO come to love the more relaxed driving style over the years (all I have to do now is stay awake). Hoping it will at least last me till retirement in 3-4 years’ time – still sweet as a nut on 165k.

Nobody will ever persuade me that front wheel drive was a good idea though

Hi i use Millers diesel power ecomax ,and have used this for a number of years on various diesel cars, and never had a problem with emissions .The car also seems to run more smoothly. This also increases the cetane rating. You could also try Shell or BPs ultimate diesel every now and again, this cleans the system.Try not to use some of the supermarket diesels. And as others have said have a good day out in it and give it a bit of welly.

Happy Motoring
David

You don't need to go excesively fast, just make the engine rev over 3.500 for minute or two.... or 10..... lol...
