For the benefit of those readers lucky enough to be living in the pure, clean air of the British countryside and other large cities, the payment was called London weighting.

London is a 'hole - surprises me why anyone would choose to live there (I can understand those trapped - my sympathy to them), though some do. Of course, I don't rate Nottingham much either - or any city for that matter (I prefer fields) - another place also considering extra taxes on the motorist and the first city to get SPECS.

I put in the reg no. of my 2005-build CDTi, and it told me there was no charge, but is this because it is registered on an 08 plate ? I then put in the reg. no. of my 2001 CDT, and it said this would be subject to a charge. Did the Euro spec of 75 CDTs change between 2001 and 2005 ?
Quite interesting Pete |

It's nothing more than an excuse to bleed the motorist dry, an easy target yet again!
This is not about pollution/congestion because if it were, why not just put an outright ban on vehicles that don't meet their 'requirements' & be done with it? An outright scam that's what it is. About time there was a pollution charge on airplanes I think!!!! |

Looks like the site checker is up the creek. My R75V8 passes if I use my Dutch registration (which it is happy to accept), but a UK registered one from the photo-gallery, made in the same week in 2005, not ! Explain that.
