If it is of ANY help at all, I have just replaced both front calipers and front and rear Stainless Steel braided EBC brake hoses, all I did to bleed them afterwards was the normal bleeding practice of furthest from Master cylinder first then working back to drivers side front, no issues and now a much more positive pedal feel with the new hoses. We are an agent for EBC, as such I had them make us the new hoses, so if you need some I can also get them made for you or anyone else who would like some. Price wise I recall we paid them around £46 plus VAT & shipping, but if you do want some, I will double check first, just PM me. Kindest regards, Simon

The MGR workshop manual makes no mention of it for brake bleeding. I'd say 999 people out of 1,000 do not use a T4 to bleed their brakes. There may be specific situations when it's needed, but routine bleeding isn't one.

That's exactly what it's for. You'll find threads on it if you do the searches.

thank you Mercury RV for your offer of front brake hoses but I have already bought a pair of oem parts and as to having a look at other threads on this site I have already done so and Big Russ says in his thread it is a must to use the T4 to bleed the secondary system
all the best david

Default Brake Bleed

For interest I have just had a Brake Flush on my 75 as it still had the original fluid in it and as it is 16 years old I thought it was due.

It was done using a T4 to purge the ABS system which I believe is not done when bleeding the "Normal" way.

A brake flush needs a T4 to change all the fluid, including in the ABS modulator, but to change a flexible hose , normal bleeding is OK as long as you don't allow the reservoir level to drop low and let air in.

Adding another question.....

Does anyone know if TOAF can access the ABS and if so, how?

Thanks.

Default Brake fluid change

I usually bleed about 300ml thru each nipple using eezi bleed when doing a brake fluid change at 15-20psi.
