Parcel shelf restoration
The parcel shelf on my saloon (non blind) has taken a bit of a battering over the years from the sun. I've been looking out for a half decent ash grey one but they appear a bit scarce.
Have seen a few youtube videos of folk removing parcel shelves and renovating them using fabric dye. Anyone ever attempted this on a 75? Mines almost bald of fabric in places, is it made of a card into which a dye would soak to achieve a uniform colour, or is it a non absorbent plastic. |

removing the parcel shelf and refitting is a fiddly job.
Be careful not to pull the heated screen wires off, may be better to disconnect them from the body of the car. Also need to remove some pillar trim and some of the seat belt fastenings macafee2 |

I was sceptical about this technique, but Edd China once used a rattle can to re do a parcel shelf. I have a Rover 220 coupe and the speaker grills had almost gone pink. I sprayed them and they have turned out great. Ironically Rover tempest grey was the best colour match. Works great.

Klarzy aka Peter Chilton used a tin of fabric paint on mine. From grey to Black. He was fitting my rear electric blind for me.
