Is this the sort that you can take off the ball section (similar to on a modern Land Rover). If so I hope they are better secured that the Land Rover type. The lock on a Land Rover ball hitch can be removed by using a small diameter punch which allows the thoef to make away with it. (£300 for a replacement!).Also of the Discovery 3 &4 the spare wheel is held up by a wire rope that can be cut through with a reasonable set of wire cutters and the wheel drops down and can be thieved without lifting the car. Both happened to me In Luton airport car park. The spare wheel and tyre were something like £500 list price!!!

Is it the whole tow bar assembly fitting details you need, or how the detachable tow ball is removed and fitted ?

I've got one I took off a tourer I was scrapping and may have the fitting instructions, or I could possibly take some photos of the bits if you are really stuck.

Perhaps if you go online to Witter you might find they have the information you need.---
