How many volts to kill a mouse?

Hi.
This has made me have a chuckle.

Its the Volts that jolt but the mills that kill. An apt and correct statement. I've had shocks of 10Kv and above from the EHT on TV sets and I'm 67 and typing the reply but the current is under 1ma, yes you feel it. Conversely I have felt a distinct twitch with just 40v with a damp hand.

A DC shock is worse than AC as you get strung on, AC you have a chance of getting thrown off.

A dry mouse will get a fright no doubt but could survive, being damp that will lower its electrical resistance and a lower resistance will pass more current and more likely to inflict a deadly shock.



Personally I'd not bother, use warfarin or other rat poison.

Hence my comment in #6 to wet the plates for when the mouse squeezes through them.
