Default Neff, a really dumb idea

The shade for the oven light fell out yesterday and broke so needs replacing.
From the instructions :- blah blah bla "The rating plate bearing these numbers can be found on the base of the appliance when you open the door"

The door folds out and down towards you and then slides under the oven. So now the door is under the over covering the base how can I read the plate? Hold door at 45 degrees, bend down and read plate, not quite, you still cannot see the plate but can see the reflection in the glass door.... agh read plate...... not so easy, the reflation shows the plate both upside down and reversed. It took me a few minutes to find the plate because the door covers it, even tried the oven next to it but same problem, where is the plate?

With glasses on I am not sure I have written the numbers down correctly, will have to ask the wife to try and read the details.

Not a smart idea to put plate under door, really dumb idea to put plate on so it is upside down and reversed in the reflection of the glass. Only other idea is to remove the door....... really?

Irrespective of this problem, I dont like Neff stuff and would not recommend the products..... not even if they are the best on the market. GGGGRRRRRRR

Why because they are the best in the market?

Why not take a photo of the plate with your phone, then look at it in a more comfortable position, even enlarge it if required?

Am alarm on the hob goes off if I wipe the hob, due I assume to much wettness, I would say water but you may think there was a lot of water.

The hob seems to turn off due to wetness, perhaps from being wiped or a lid from a boiling saucepan being placed on the hob

An alarm goes off if something hot and perhaps wet is put on the hob when the hob is not in use

The timer on the oven only needs you to twitch when setting it and it flips to another timer

The timer on the oven increases in time too quickly.
The time cannot be set in less increments then 5 minutes above X, cant recall what x is

The shelves are not what I consider in the right place for the middle of the oven, to high or two low.

You oviously don't have the same neff oven as we do. Our's even has a 'sabbath' mode for the followers of judaeism (not us) - you can set it up with a casserole the day before you want it to cook!

Your opinion doesn't seem to be shared Ian by the respondents so far but I recognise it.
I find that a lot of brands which proclaim themselves as superior by skilled marketeers are nothing more than expensive status symbols.

I think we have that too what a con, cant work after dark Friday so we find a work around as we are not going to be inconvenienced by our faith, also lights left on. I'll end my rant there

If you can't read the plate just look on eBay at Neff hide and slide ovens and find the model number that matches yours

There also plenty of lamp covers on there once you've found the model number and a replacement should cost you between £12- 20 for a genuine replacement depending on type.

I really like our Neff ovens including the built in combination microwave. The only problem I've had was changing the bulb on the microwave that requires you to remove the oven completely and dismantle half of it to get to the bulb.
Certainly not a job for an amateur

Russ
