Rain was a bit of a non event, lasted about 30 minutes . . . . coincided perfectly with nipping to the shops

Ging went to an eastern foods shop after work this morning, no spring roll wrappers. I might mount an expedition tomorrow.

That’s interesting Richard and it reminds me of the time when I moved into a flat in North London and asked British Gas to bring the gas in from the road and into the flat. 6 gas workers to dig a hole and then run some pipes. That was in the days when manpower was plentiful.

Have a great day.

Don't have mains gas here. My parents enquired 30+ years ago and were quoted nearly £40k to run a branch off the main that runs along the main road to the cottages. Three of the four cottages were up for it but the fourth wouldn't play ball. Everybody was of the opinion that they weren't shelling out only for him to get connected in the future for a fraction of the cost. We have propane gas cylinders for heating and hot water, pricey during winter but cheap (the cylinders last months) in summer.

Cool

Morning everyone.

We have rain, that light stuff that soaks you.

I was going to have a day out but it looks like I’ll be staying in and clean the windows on the inside, all 16 of them.

The gas came on about 2.30 pm and was test to make sure the gas was working properly after that time, and it was working fine so it's perfectly. Still not spoken to doctor yet because Fiona can't take me yet due to after school has meetings this week, so will try to make it next week.

Hi Richard

Thank you for letting us know about the gas work and the delayed appointment to see the doctor next week, do keep at it.

This morning I had a private appointment to see the cardiologist. He was telling me how the new heart tablet I am on for heart and lung failure is also good for oedema, kidney disease dementia and preventing sudden death.

He listened to my heart, lungs and did a physical check up. He prescribed a new medication to treat another condition called Hiatus Hernia. The new tablet has to be taken 30 minutes before a meal once a day and it works by cutting out the acid and it hurries up the emptying of the stomach preventing oesophageal reflux.

Today’s appointment was charged at £25, so I think I had my money’s worth. I am seeing him again in 7 days for more follow up and monitoring.

Seeing the specialist and having him explain things, helps me understand my illness. He wants me to change my lifestyle. For example after my evening meal
I am to stay sitting up for 3 hours and no going to bed after supper.

All in all, I felt reassured and less stressed from having been seen.

Hopefully Richard when you see your doctor he will help you understand what’s going on and keep you involved in the plans for your care and treatment.
Remember to tell him everything, leaving nothing out.

Take care …..
