There are 3 currently for sale on the CAR and CLASSIC website.

They seem to change hands for about £50,000.

Cool

Do your research before buying one.

I looked at buying the only Sunspot one made. A friend bought it at an auction. Less than 2 months it needed a new clutch, then it had to have a new engine, special one built by Steve Hylands in Canada.

Only one convertible shell built. And it is just a shell.

A good place to ask about them is to contact Chris Flanagan at Retro Lifestyle up in Yorkshire.

Think there was 84 SVR’s and 3 SVS’s built before MG ROVER went under. Think that a car company in Sussex bought a lot of the remaining shells and components with the intention of continuing the build. Not sure if any were built.

I was speaking to an owner of one at a car event this year. He was full of praise for the way the car drove and it styling but reckoned it cost a fortune for everything.

His had needed some work for its MOT and he reckoned he could have bought a run about for what it cost to get it through.

The guys who are doing project binky, seem to be planning an svr as their next project. They gave it a brief mention in a video a few months back.

The leftover shells were bought by William Riley but his plans to put the car back into production didn't work out, and they were sold on E-Bay 4 or 5 years ago. A friend of mine here in Canada has one of them. Apparently a couple of crazy Swedish guys bought at least one of the others

Chris also managed to buy one of the shells too. I’m not sure what his plans are for it as I know he has one or two spare V8s ready to go in
