He is not far wrong Simon
It slides off but if you have the old white clips they will probably be broken or will break if you try to remove them as getting it to slide back on all three is tricky so I bin the white ones and fit the less brittle Red one (part number in the part number thread) You do see the white clips on ebay from time to time but I strongly recommend going to your local parts dept and getting a bag of reds |

Which way does it slide Keith - left, right, inwards or outwards?
(I take it we're talking about the same thing? - i.e. the chrome kickplates with 'Rover' etched on). |

No not those I mean the plastic things that always get knocked off that cover the door seals, they slide towards the dash iirc
Remove that and then there are two grey clip securing the carpet pull those out peel back the carpet and you can see where the cables run |
