If you want a list of garages equipped with the T4 diagnostic kit necessary for checking things then go to http://www.xpartautoservicecentre.com/ and follow the links to find your nearest service centre. All X-Part Service Centres have full T4 diagnostic equipment.

Dont know about the bit that fell off but the usual way of getting rid of the mileage display permanently on is a battery disconnection reboot of the cars electrics.
ie. Ignition key out of lock. Open bonnet, drivers door and boot and wait for the electrics to shut down. If you have Sat Nav make sure the red light on the front is off. Without opening /shutting doors/boot disconnect battery for about 15/20 minutes. Then reconnect battery. Oh and make sure you have the radio code as well. If you do have the Sat Nav system the radio system is not coded by the way. May fix things and a bit cheaper than a garage.!!! |

Another unsolved thread !!!!!
We have one here which has a mislock fault. Causes just a clicking relay in the BCU when trying to lock with key in lock or remotely. (alarm sounder duff otherwise that would be chirping too!) Central locking works fine from central console button unlocking and locking normally. No faults according to T4 We've changed Door solenoids. BCU EWS Individual door solenoid forced outputs work normally also. This is certainly a weird one.

That sounds just like mine. Using the remote, the driver's lock makes the right sort of noises, but won't unlock unless you use the key. Pretty certain the internal console button unlocks the driver's door.
Odd thing is the remote has no issue in locking everything. |

Hi Jules
Sounds like the car is behaving as though the key is still in the ignition? Just a thought - are you sure the relay clicking in the BCU is actually the door lock relay, and not just the alarm sounder relay - ie the car is not trying to lock but is actually trying to beep the alarm (horn - unless it has powerwash/BBUS fittted) * Assuming you have access to a T4, have you checked out the list of mislocks (under the security section?) - Mislocks don't generate fault codes - but the last 10(?)are logged * When you changed the EWS did you check for corrosion on the plug? * Have you checked the fuses for the EWS side of life? * Have you checked the key has a transponder fitted (and that the owner hasn't just used the glue method of sticking a transponder to to the ignition coil to use a copy key) * Would it be worth trying to enable bathrobe locking, leaving the ignition on and seeing if the fault remains? Regards Chris
