rover 75 air lock
how I got round air lock in matrix.
b&q picked up 22mm to 15 mm T push fit and washing machine tap . I attached tap to 15mm outlet. then cut into matrix pipe insert 2 22mm plastic or copper pipe to each end with jubilee clips . then push on the T fit to both ends. you then connect a washing machine pipe to the thread tap place pipe over the res tank you then start to fill radiator. put heating on full and set revs to 1500 rpm slowly add anti freeze and water open tap and when it starts to flow keep pipe submerged in res . when air bubbles stop shut off tap . when the revs go back to tick over the level in the res will drop so top up (job was about 1 hour to do now blowing red hot both sides the 75 has lots of air traps this way you get a continued flow with no anti freeze waste with the tap system you can save your 5 year anti freeze if you need to drain the system again hope this helps WILL LIST PHOTOS tomorrow when wife shows me how lol/////////// hi I have also had thermostate probs so went for the inline as this was easy way the steel band is hard to get at so I again when to b&q for a insert pipe when thermos is in rubber pipe the the plastic insert butt up to it making it secure see photos listed temp is bang on and cabin red hot !!! I have stored the pipe down the side of the wing Last edited by Dragrad; 16th December 2015 at 22:25.. Reason: Consecutive posts - use the edit :-) |

It looks to me like your fbh bypass hose is missing, there is a bleed screw fitted into it which would perform the air bleeding process normally.

hi the webasto diesel heater was removed which left surplus pipe I just cut it away and T the pipe with the push fit. the bleed screw cant cope with the amount of air that can get trapped in 75. just a bad idea from rover they know it wont work so you have to take it to them for pressure bleed just want more of your cash ££££££ there was a heck of amount of air came out of mine and coz the pipe was feed in to res there was no waste of anti freeze I let it run in for about 15 mins when no more bubbles in res just shut off tap checked every other day and no loss of water I have had a few cars with trapped air this worked on them all
