We visited family in Sydney a few years ago and watched a very happy and enthusiastic dog go all over our luggage. They "found" a plastic container - now empty and washed out - that many, many hours before had some fruit in it.

As the saying goes - "Good Dog" .

How anyone could possibly miss the numerous signs etc. I've no idea. Personally I'd send them back to wherever they came from and put a marker on so that they can never, ever, return.

It's all part and parcel of the "I can get one over on you" or con, swindle, fraud culture.

Choice and consequence.

Andy.

Default And we needed the equipment during our severe bushfires.

Here is a report from our local newspaper regarding the shipments from Oz.

https://www.theage.com.au/national/b...02-p54gjh.html

I visited our local hardware warehouse and was surprised that there were visitors searching the isles.

I asked a check-out member where the face masks were. They were previously displayed at the end of a number of rows. All sold! One gentleman purchased 250 boxes (2,000) masks.

We had local volunteer fire fighters supported by plane loads of USA firies fighting the many fire fronts over hundreds of kilometres. It is a frightening experience, the heat and smoke is dreadful - melted aluminium auto parts lie in puddles on the ground. They and the back-up support would have loved to have the extra PPE.

But now we are to receive some container loads back as a goodwill gesture.

The Chinese business practices are targeted at the ends, not the means.
Some years ago there was a major explosion in a fireworks factory in China, that resulted in 500 deaths.
The Chinese authorities view on this ? 500 vacancies up for grabs.

Brutal.

Other cultures are curious things. The Chinese people are usually deferential to each other with marked behaviour patterns full of apparent respect - especially to strangers - or at least they are in my admittedly limited experience. Yet catastrophes like the current one, and their submission to ruthless government, are at odds with everything else. Inscrutable is perhaps apt.
