Default V6 2.5 cruise control don't stop

Hello, I just acquired a Rover 75 v6 2.5 auto, the precedent owner has repaired the cruise control, only this one does not deactivate when braking. He changed the brake pedal switch but the problem was the white box under the glove box. When I brake the cruse does not turn off and once the pedal is released, it automatically returns to the recorded speed. it’s very dangerous.
Anyone have an idea, please?
Thank you.
