Screeching noise when in first
Hi all
My car makes a screeching noise when I am in first gear when setting off has anybody else had this problem |

Check your ancillary drive belt tension Matt.

Check the aircon drivebelt tension. If that is OK then check the serpentine belt tension by feel - there is no set tension as it has an automatic tensioner.
Check for any contamination on the belts and pulleys. Always a good idea to add the engine type you have under your name - makes it easier for everybody. . Last edited by Mike Noc; 15th September 2020 at 10:32.. |

If it is one of the belts it should make the same noise by just revving the engine. You don't need to drive along the road.
If there's no noise there's a faint chance its the clutch release bearing.--- |
