Compliment from an Audi owner
Had an auto electrician round to assist on my parking sensors issue. Started talking about cars he said he had an R Reg Audi A4 1.8T which he has had for 17 years and has grown attached to and which he really looked after - so we swopped experiences around old car ownership. As he parted he then asked me has your car been remapped or a steel back box as your engine sounds a lot more powerful than my Audi- the answer to which was no upgrade and a standard newly fixed Klarius box. He was impressed.

At the moment I own an Audi a6 2.0 diesel saloon.
It is a nice drive, comfortable, reliable, real mile muncher BUT.......... For me it doesn't have the smile factor of the ZT/ZTT . I am after another ZT as a toy The audi can go days without me driving it...... When I had my ZTT........ it was used everyday. |

Don't get me started on Audis!
My neighbour is in hospital and asked if I could pick up his A5 S-Line Cabrio and take it home for him.... ten minutes to work out how to get it to start (stick the keyless fob into some little slot that looks like a loose change holder and press the clutch) .... then it nagged me all the way with a variety of pings, bleeps, coloured lights and "useful" suggestions from some disembodied voice that was vaguely reminiscent of Rosa Kleb from the James Bond films. I'll take the creaking of the suspension and the rumble of the dodgy after-market exhaust on my 75 every time!

I had three Audi 80’s as company cars one after the other - a 1.6 CL then two 1.8GL’s. I loved them. Comfortable, reliable and the 1.8’s were surprisingly quick.
Only issue I had was the second car would cut out when idling on a downward slope. After lots of checks it was finally identified as water in the fuel tank. Either condensation, dirty fuel or someone pee’ed in my tank. But once the tank was drained and dried out - no more problem. |

Before my ZT I had an Ibiza TDi90, best diesel engine ever made, 360.000kms with no faults. I miss that car, but I'd miss more the ZT now I'm driving it. The only thing I like better from my old Ibiza is that it got better mileage.
