I'm being conned
I'm being conned but I don't know by whom.
Recently sold 2 items on ebay as brand new boxed, that is how I got them, even had receipts for them. 1 item returned as damaged, I took it apart and it has been glued. Now a second item, different buyer has sent a picture to show glue marks. Who is conning me, the buyers or the sellers? So long ago and receipts were recently shredded but a note made that we had a receipt. Even with receipts I could not go back to the sellers which are shops due to time that has passed. I'm sure the buyers are angry if they are not conning me, but so am I. At least they know who to be angry at, I don't. Full refund given to first buyer and will give full refund to second but if they leave negative feedback who ill want to buy from me. Lesson learnt a little late I'm afraid. macafee2 |

Just about to say, your feedback profile is the thing prospective buyers look at. You have done the right thing so you shouldn't get neg f'back.

I hope you are right but even 1 bad review, who want to buy from someone that sells new mint boxed and the review is been glued together. just frustrating not knowing where the damage took place. I'll try to resell it but for half price with a description of what has been found. macafee2 |

I've had similar experience, sometimes you get disappointed in the people you deal with. All you can do is move on with a wider experience.
I once photoed an item in detail, not shown in the listing, which resulted in the buyer being banned for irregular practices. It's a jungle. Fortunately I have managed to keep a 100% record but view every deal with suspicion until proven otherwise. I now only buy from 100% dealers. Sadly, after a lifetime's experience, I view everything from those I don't know as unproven friends.

It happens with motorcycle parts, one seller states on his ads all items marked with smartwater because people order from him then send their worn out part back demanding a refund. Maybe do the same and mark your sale items.

1 negative and one neutral in last 12 months, no idea why neutral as the written feedback is positive. No contact from negative buyer, just left feedback macafee2 |

Yes my wife has had that with crockery, not only on the bay. Immaculate pieces sent but photos sent to her of broken & badly repaired pieces that were apparently received like that. Yeah, right! Absolutely blatant.

Your actions in dealing with the matter will show in the feedback, or should do. This shows a lot to prospective buyers.
I have a clause in my description that any return is acceptable providing the goods are as they left me - and less 10% admin fee. Recently though, one buyer suggested that the heater I sold, started smoking and they would not touch it again. What could I do?, but refunded. We are really in the "buyers" hands, and eBay will not assist. |

An update. we received a very pleasant email ( one to be proud to receive) from the buyer being very complementary and saying they will keep the item. We had already agreed a full refund and had provided a pre paid postage label. Good news macafee2 |
