By all means buy Toaf if you want to, but it's not necessary in order to get your air conditioning working. You've already established that your radiator fan is not running on its slow speed (provided that to test it you used the windscreen demist button with the engine running). This needs repairing irrespective of anything else because your engine isn't being cooled properly either which is likely to lead to overheating. Start by looking through the radiator grille to see if you have a silver rectangular resistor mounted on the fan shroud at about the two o'clock position. If you have one, your fan is a 2 speed unit and that resistor is the problem. It needs to be changed for a higher power type, usually coloured gold. On the other hand, if there is no resistor present this indicates a 3 speed system. The fault here will be that one motor brush has eroded to its minimum length and is no longer making contact with the commutator. High quality replacement brushes are available (but not from eBay) for a cost effective long term repair. If you would like more information on this, just let us know. Simon
