what is this?
Had this for years, don't know what it is, what it does or where it came from. Do you know what it is and does, please tell me what it is and does.
If I pull the cord the two pegs go round and round. The green rubbers interlock when the unit is closed. They have a gentle "spring" under them so they can be pushed flat to the metal surface. macafee2 |

That is Razor Blade Sharpener. It is from 1960 and before from time when razor blade were not disposal ones but multiple use. This is old school stuff. If I could upload pictures I would show you mine. Almost identical as yours but different colours and slightly different razor blade holder pins.
If you put Razor Blade Sharpener in the Google engine and look for pictures you will find them like: 1. https://funnyjunk.com/old+school+raz...-gifs/5255961/ Or 2. http://retrorazor.com/2009/razor-blade-sharpener/ |

That is amazing! I have never seen anything like that. Looking at the picture, I would have said it was some kind of early remote control for for something (no reference for size), perhaps a crane/winch type of device mounted on a lorry.

Around that time I remember Tomorrows World airing the prototype disposable/ubiquitous double blade product (together with a mini macro camera probe showing how the stubble was drawn up, cropped and then immediately further trimmed by the second blade....'fascinating' history lesson for some?) that a lot of us probably use today. |
