Specification C3.
Didn't think that was any use in any of our engines.
Unless someone knows different.
I am willing to be proved wrong.

The AG version as shown is Dexos 2 compliant for GM/Opel/Vauxhall cars. Very useful for those of us who also own Vauxhalls.

Isn't 10W/30 the wrong viscosity? Owners handbook page 143 says 10W/40 for petrol and diesels.

There's a Shell Helix HX7 10W/40 - blue can.

£17 inc p&p https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/23288023608...iABEgIJZ_D_BwE

The 5W/30 Helix page (grey can) says ACEA C3; API SN
The 10W/40 Helix page (blue can) says ACEA A3/B3, A3/B4, JASO SG+

The handbook p143 says:

Petrol engines 10W/40 ACEA A2 (ACEA A1 for 1.8 engine)
Diesel engines 10W/40 or 15W/40 meeting both ACEA A3 and B3

Which is why I said I didn't think it was any good for our cars.

Probably great for some Vauxhalls.

Yes, but my point was the 10W/40 isn't either - unless ACEA A3 spec exceeds ACEA A2, which I don't know.

It does. Also, an API/SM compliant oils is fine for our cars.

HX7 it is then for me. ECP's £17 for 5L is a good price but it's even a tad cheaper here (inc p&p) - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/302537159241 - just think what you can do with the 34p.

Been using hx7 via these annual deals, now for a few years, and can recommend it (at least insofar as it quieted the noise compared to the valvoline use in previous 3 services).

Changed oil for it in a colleagues car, and she commented that it was quieter after.
