Overheating 190
Guys i have a big problem we were booked to go on holiday to visit the wifes kids in essex but the car is overheating badly i think the oil cooler has gone faulty and over heating cause of it its a 190 mg i have tryed a few garages but no one can help this is my last avenue to try.

Just disconnect the two pipes to the oil cooler and join them together.
Is the cooling fan working as it should and any knowledge of a thermostat change? |

yes its all working but i dont have any strengh to do it why i was trying to get someone to sort it just had a mechanic out and he said head gasket failure i have been told on a 190 thats rare

Not rare at all, I've had 2 go, the second from 3 failing thermostats or rather the sub standard O rings that were used on it.
Bypassing the oil cooler really is an easy job, did the mechanic not offer to do this for you? However, if you'd have had a puncture you would have been told that it was the head gasket, really boils my ****. At this very late hour your best bet might be to hire a car so your weekend is not totally ruined. |
