'Kaiser' KV6 Thermostat Kits to be stocked soon!

Hello all,
As part of our long-running fight to keep these cars reliable, we're pleased to announce we're stocking the Kaiser KV6 All Metal Thermostat Kit.



We've taken the basic Kaiser kit, and added a full complement of additional parts to make this a truly fit and forget component:

- Thermostat Housing (PEM101050) including Lucas Thermostat (replaceable)
- Curved Pipe
- Straight Pipe
- 2x Straight Pipe Clips
- 2x Inlet Manifold Gaskets
- Temperature Sensor MEK000030 (located in the 'V')
- 4x spare CDU3858 O Rings

Pricing is £199.99 for the full kit - this is a fair chunk less than the usual £295 (new) or £200 (second hand) we see the basic 3-piece kit changing hands for elsewhere.

5 kits are due mid March - pre order now to secure yours.
After the initial 5, delivery of the next batch is expected to be during April.

Good news, except for the price. Couple of questions - won’t the standard plastic curved and straight pipes fit this metal thermostat? I’ve replaced about five thermostats and all were down to failure of the main internal thermostat.

Don’t really need a new temperature sensor either, and have successfully re-used the old clips. Guessing that the kit comes with fitted O rings, so don’t really need the spares either. The gaskets of course I would need, are the black ones better than the green ones?

Just wondering if all I need is the thermostat and housing, what would the price be of that?

Don't worry - we can supply without any parts if you drop us a PM.
The price including shipping, VAT and duty from SA isn't much less than from us - and we can deliver in as little as a day from ordering rather than weeks.
Not to mention the Customs 'fun' and fees that Royal Mail etc charge these days...

To clarify, we're working with Kaiser to place larger orders for these to keep them in production, and to keep them in UK stock as a lot of members will be stranded if their thermostat went ping - not just to take someone else's work and make a killing.
There's not a huge amount in projects like this; it's more to complement our product portfolio and have quick access to the parts.

Those prices have changed quite a lot for any members reading - the original post was in 2009.

bought a few of these off kaiser, brilliant product and never any issues over 5 or more years.As mentioned, pricing is up a bit so buying just the thermostat housing would be good when people use the key hole method of replacement as you dont gaskets etc.

Just the thermostat housing is the bit I've been asking about but as yet none the wiser, regarding if it fits the standard plastic bits or the pricing.

Was also interested in the black IMG vs the green ones, guess many of us would be interested to know what the difference is, if any?

Sometimes, when I've helped others with thermostat problems they've generally supplied the whole kit, usually it's just the actual thermostat & housing but I fit the new bits and the old, still useful parts, end up in the attic. Not as much as I imagine Arctic hoards but enough to be handy and why I'm primarily only interested in the actual housing.

last couple of thermo housings ive done done the key hole method.
Alot easer with the manifolds off but longer.
Never changed the temp sender on any of them but i suppose if you have it you might as well.
