Toggle switch
Some good things, others troublesome. Updated every driver on the HP laptop via an on-line service and reconnected to the T4. Green LED on the side, great, but my trusty 0004 wouldn’t load, restarted the HP and no green LED light. Left it overnight and remembered Brian’s mention of a toggle switch. Pressed the switch in and disco time, LEDs flashing, great. Connected to my 75 and all well, or at least it seems to be and if I leave the 0004 in the tray while starting it comes up as it should. But now the ribbon cable on the laptop’s screen seems to have had it and I can barely see what’s going on - never rains …
So today’s question is what does the toggle switch do, and should I be concerned that the interface only works with the switch depressed? I would prefer a positive answer please. Keep well |

By the way, you need to check your emails, including perhaps your junk folder, as I sent you a useful link Brian |

Thanks Brian, feel a bit more relieved, things are looking up (except for the laptop screen). I received the email and replied on the 3rd, strange, will try again later as I might need some advice on a suitable laptop replacement. Just trying to bring the Dell back to life, feels like a never ending story, but today's T4 connection helped. Keep well, Mike |

Hi Mike - just saw this. I'm pretty at home with Windows, if you still need any help. Don't worry about your Dell specifically - they all work the same way, really

Further update.
My joy of two successful sessions soon expired, the current error message is "You have selected the incorrect diagnosis for this vehicle". Still only reading with DST0004 - tried to make a back-up to save the original disc on two different machines, one a Win10 and the other MacBook Pro, unsuccessful. Time to put the machine to bed for a while and get moving on my daughter's V6 cambelt change. Time for a new plan ... running out of letters, should now start adding numbers ie B2. Keep well |
