I've only had my ZT for a year. If I had a choice I would have picked a Tourer but as it is I bought the only ZT within 3000 miles so the selection was scant.
The longest I've had any car would have been the MGB-GT I bought in Winnipeg Manitoba in 1977 and kept till 1987. (should have kept that one!) The next longest would be my Japanese market MGF-VVC which I have had for 8 years.
I am still on my Starter Wife at 33 years. I may just hang onto her a while longer.

Default 5 yrs

Had mine for 5 years now , and looked around for a replacement awhile ago and there was nothing that floated my boat so my lovely wife decided to let me spend the same amount on this one.
So far since November its cost £1300 and i still have the rear end to do so i think it's a keeper.
I think i will keep the wife too

The view from the kitchen window even makes me think about washing up now and again

The tourer even looks quite nice in Monogram Snot Supertallic, I said this to Pete Barella when I saw his car for the first time, something that can't be said about the saloon.

For me most cars are long term, and most leave my ownership at end of life, and the longest I've owned one car is 32 years.

These cars look good, and as a design statement are pretty timeless, but they don't drive as nicely as a lot of contemporary cars.......but at the end of the day they are old cars now, and lot's of people have their rose tinted spectacles on when describing the driving experience

For the moment, my R40 will suffice, but as a driving experience the R40 is blown into the weeds by the R8, and that's my next project, I miss the practicality and good looks of the tourer (XW, not RJ)

Brian
We had about 4 R8 tourers and they were our family car of choice for many years before we moved to 75 tourers. I’d love another but they are getting rare now. I loved the rear shelf folding operation, it’s the simple things....... still a stunning looking car today

Well if VAK is the original number, it was registered in Sheffield, AK became a Sheffield number in 1974 after being a Bradford area number prior to that

I spent some time living and working in Steel City, and others included WA, WG, WE, I've owned a couple of Sheffield registered cars, A178AWA, NWE552X, DAK846V, FWG96V.

My reply wasn't to imply sarcasm Brian and i'm fully aware of you being a sad old get lol. But i genuinely have little knowledge of its early life it being one of the missing records cars.
