Change of plans, broken spring
Just got home from work, pulled up outside the house , got out , locked car , walking away and bang , broken o/s front spring.
A nice sharp edge just resting on the top of the tyre. Guess what I will be doing tomorrow on my 1 day off. And now going to order some protectors as well Stan

Took me by surprise
Like you say most of the posts about these are a the start of a journey ,having a quick look the break looks quite rusty so wondering if its been cracked for a while. I got some complete struts of mat a while ago, just waiting for some warmer weather. The last few weeks the front end has been rattling away like some of those wind up gnashers. Still I sure I can find some other jobs to do during my 3 weeks of at the end of APRIL. The list so far Fit and wire seats in(rears fitted) Fit reversing camera Paint work on bonnet Pillar trims Master plan for dashboard Plus more no doubt Stan

All done , started at 11 , finished at 4.30 with plenty of coffee breaks and chats with the neighbours.
Found why it's been knocking away like a good un. Stan

You can see why they "bite" the tyre with teeth like that. Don't forget the protectors!

Have had 2 springs go both on O/S/F whilst cars have just been parked after use that day. Luck would have it that no damage to tyres but they do go with a hell of a bang, even makes car jump.

That looks like it's been away for some time Stan, at least you didn't end up with a puncture to add insult to injury
