Xtrons Steering Wheel Controls - Working
Been playing about with my Xtrons TD716g. and found out how to get the steering controls to work without the SWI-X adaptor.
3 wires RED GREY and BLACK Black wire to Blue/Purple Grey wire to Blue/Orange and Red wire, you just tape it up. I'm so happy to have the Steering wheel controls working. Hope that helps anyone else. Stu. Last edited by cusm; 2nd March 2010 at 18:13.. |

Nice one! How did you manage it? I know of a certain person on here that wrecked at least one of these units by connecting those wires up by trial and error and getting it wrong. What does that enable you to control (other than volume I guess!)?

I done a search on Google and somehow managed to come across the solution on the Mazda forum. So I tried it and it worked.
What it controls : 1. Volume 2. Next and Previous on CD's 3. Radio tune 4. Mode ( switching to other things eg. DVD, NAV, TV, IPOD) Gonna try and see if I can get phone controls working, just spent all day refitting the thing, so I'm to tight fisted to but the BMW Bezel lol. This I have to try, I'll be back. Wonder if trebor will be tempted to toy with it, I am sure his steering wheel controls work, think he has some adaptor though. If this works it should go in the useful info sticky. Shame on you for such language
