Don't forget to bleed the system through with fresh fluid before you start removing anything so that the new slave cylinder doesn't get contaminated.

My personal preference is a Borg & Beck clutch with LuK / Metal Slave Cylinder.
You can now get a Genuine AP Master Cylinder for under £50 if you want to change this too - https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/collections/...5480-stc000110

Borg and Beck/LUK are the favoured clutch makes on the forum - as Marinabrian says if you change the clutch it is wise to change the slave cylinder whilst you are about it - the Master cylinder is a whole easier job and less costly to do and unless it is playing up i would not change it.

Get the originals fitted to the car...

AP (not AP racing before anyone starts tripping)

They are available on Island 4x4.com and far cheaper than any MG Rover boxed products. Think I paid £72 for clutch plate and cover a while ago.

Delphi have just made a new batch of slaves, so its all good pretty much.

Dont even consider changing the clutch unless you do all three components. I can't be bothered with the bleeding and messing around doing gymnastics in the drivers footwell, all pre-filled parts, fit and forget, get on with life.

I've just had Lates and Pete fit a AP clutch - cost me £120 - and a LUK slave.
