My handbrake compensator has stretched so an email to arctic to ensure he still does them was sent.
I then remembered I had a mini one somewhere so off I go in my box of stuff and I find it. The interior was taken out and the handbrake duly removed. The cable was then replaced with the mini one and all put back together, and this is when the problem began, the cable when tightened on the adjuster then twisted , so off it all came again, I couldn’t see immediately what the problem was but then I spotted it. The circled part was further away than what it is in the pic, reducing the gap makes no difference as it’s already been weakened, the cause can only be over tightening the cable which in turn pulls the two parts of the hand brake apart. I have no access to a welder otherwise I think a small weld would be enough to hold this end together. Tapping it back into shape made no difference, when the adjuster was tightened this simply spread apart again. So assuming the replacement compensator gets here by next weekend I’ll be doing the same job......again. 🙄 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I removed the rear bumper today in order to re-seal both boot vents.
On the side that was leaking (offside) there was a bit of seam sealer that was close enough to the hole to be putting a dent in the gasket. I suspect that was what had caused the leak. I trimmed the sealer and then put silicon on the gasket and replaced it. The nearside was not leaking, but sealed it anyway. Easier job than I thought it would be, but did have the girlfriend help me. As the sun was shining, removed the egr and gave it a clean. Car is new to me, so was interested to see what it was like. It will be better for it, but not too bad TBH. |

Went to start the ZT click flat battery, it had been standing for a couple of weeks, so thought i'd try a jump stat of the old battery i took off it 2 yrs ago because i though it was on its way out, its been on charge with a ctek charger a couple of times an seemed to be ok, hooked it up and started first time nice and strong so looks like i have a good spare battery
let it tick over for ten mins then took a run to the tip. Got back and started the main job - rear left wheel bearing change to see if it cured the ABS problem. Three wheel nuts cracked then the 17mm socket broke quick hunt and i hadn't got another so out came the wheel brace and the other 2 were off no problem , nice steady hour and a half and bearing changed, quick test drive and seems OK. So will take it to work tomorrow - 70 mile round trio should do the battery some good. Gave the ZT & Tourer a wash too before going in for a cuppa and biscuit all in all a satisfying day. |

What I did with my Rover 75/MG ZT today?
Finished the FBH installation on the ZT it’s now working on remote and timer, I didn’t realise you could adjust the length of time it stays on via the remote!
I then refitted the straight through exhaust to the gold one 🤟 and reconnected the green lights.
