Default Fantastic deal for all automatic owners!

We're all aware that the Jatco JF506E gearbox is a fantastic piece of machinery, and normally trundles along with the minimum of fuss - the only 2 real weak spots being the reverse piston (all affected have probably failed and been repaired by now) and the 2/4 Brake Duty Solenoid.

I sell these solenoids by the bucket load - and a supplier we use for them has piped up and offered us a batch of 200 at a discount rate. They ordered a few too many from their supplier, so thought they'd pass some cheer on to us (and maybe hide the mistake before the gaffer finds out, who knows!)

Anyway, a long story short - we're offering them for £34.99 instead of the usual £73.99, but only for the next 200 sold. They're in stock, and ready to go (however please bear in mind that we aren't posting much until the New Year now).

I've had to change this on 2 out of my 5 Rover 75 and MG ZT automatics; the part is common to all automatic models (petrol and diesel) apart from the R75 V8.

Changing the part is fairly simple if you're a DIY enthusiast - I did mine on the driveway. I did a How To here:
https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?t=188690

If you're a very long-term owner, I'd recommend one for the shelf. This is one of those niggly parts which is probably going to end up going up in price as the number of JF506E gearboxes on the road drops off, so worth keeping hold of.

The rebuild guide I had to hand recently (and the forum post from another marque I followed when doing the work) suggests no gasket is used - mine certainly seemed to just be a liquid seal, and hadn't been apart previously (to my knowledge).

I used a very (very!) small bead of instant gasket, and to date (many tens of thousands of miles later) it's still holding up absolutely fine.
Bear in mind that instant gasket in any significant quantity within the gear oil wouldn't be good - so use as small of an amount as possible.

Gaskets do exist for the JF506E gearbox, though - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Jaguar...SMu-:rk:1:pf:0

Here is the answer I got for mine:
"This item doesn't fit Rover 75 1999 RJ [1999-2005] Saloon 2.5 V6 2497ccm 175HP 129KW (Petrol)."

The eBay compatibility charts are about as useful as a snake in a bottom kicking contest - try a Land Rover Freelander of similar vintage (TD4) and it shows as compatible. The gearbox is identical
