Cool

This number and loads more every day on my land line. If I do not recognise the number then I don’t pick up the phone. If it’s a genuine call then they will leave a message.

Search google for telephone preference service and add your number, Bob. After a few weeks you should notice a dramatic drop in calls.

We're registered with the Telephone Preference Service but stilled get plagued by these calls .

I think many of them originate from overseas, so are perhaps outside the reach of the TPS .

My BT phone is now programmed to only take calls in my contacts list. All others go to record message.

Registered but still get loads of calls. A couple are international calls, London 0207 numbers along with 0208 ones. I’m even ex-directory.

I think the network providers who relay the fake calls (the scammers fake the numbers) should be made liable. They know who the call originates from (otherwise they would not be able to bill them) and are quite happy to take their micro pennies for each call.

They then give the tools to block calls at the end, who gets the call. Strangely they still make their money. Kerching.

If they were blocked at source and telecoms made liable for fake calls, it would stop overnight.

Most originate abroad. Does not matter. Block the originating exchange if they are relaying fake calls.

If the exchange does not present an id, block it as well. Only traceable calls get through.

True Call, stops it all.
I got so fed up of them, even swearing at them made no difference. I do not mean saying my goodness either, I mean really ripping into them. People we know call our mobiles., I considered having the landline cut off, until I discovered True Call. Bought one (first landline phone I ever paid for), installed it, and thought it was broke, was ringing people asking them to call me to see if the phone works. Not a single spam or telesales call since, fantastic, cannot praise them enough, and never had a problem with them. BT are the best, I have just replaced my triple set with the new premium, just because I wanted to, worth every single penny.

Mine was too, then they started to multiply again. Registered again and they have subsided once more.
