Insurance Again
Had my renewal quote from Hastings Direct, £619.27 for both cars , I go onto the Go-Compare sight and they come up with a figure of £474.84 for both cars and that was with Hastings Direct, right on the phone I go and tell them the story and why was there such a difference in price, Give the man his due he checked to see if I was telling the truth, he then said leave it with me lets see what we can do for you.
Any way the original figure was because I was on a Premier insurance which included Breakdown Cover and Legal Fees. Oh! right I said, so the figure Go-Compare quoted was without these extras, the man then says if I put you on hold I will try and find a better price, no problem!, he comes back with a figure of £502 all in Comprehensive, foreign travel protected no claims, for both cars? How can they knock off £ 117.27 from their original figure. Rev. |

My daughters first year insurance went from £1,450 down to £850 with just a few clicks. By adding my wife and myself to my daughters policy as named drivers reduced it by £550, and then changing the start date reduced it by another £50.
This year was even better as it came in at just £700, but this time doing the opposite worked in our favour. By removing ourselves from her policy reduced the premium by £200, so her second year of driving she's only paying £500, plus using Quidco the cashback site my daughter will receive £40 cashback, now that cant be bad. The lowest insurance I could ever get on my Rover 75 2.5 conny was 595 quid (there's no GBP sign on this gamer keyboard)
Never made a claim or had any points in over 45 years of motoring.

I have all 3 of mine on a multi vehicle policy through Lancaster insurance for £795 per year. Includes breakdown, legal, curtsey car, loss of keys and windscreen cover. Limited mileage of 6,000 per car.
Being a member of the MG Owners Club has its benefits.
