Default USB 3 and USB 2

Thanks guys

Will a USB 2.0 port connect and work with a USB 3 device for example with a USB 3.0 SD card reader?

Yes, but obviously you won't get USB 3 speeds.

Thank you for replying so quickly, that’s very useful to know as all of my 2009 - 2013 MacBook Pro laptops only have USB 2 ports and the devices I want to plug in are USB 3.0

You are welcome.. I have both USB 2 and 3 ports on my gaming rig and all my devices run happily on both but you can definately see the speed difference transferring data thru USB 2.

My Media PC is a bit aged now and only has USB 2 on board so i send any files to it through the network instead of using USB sticks.

Thank you for that, I had not thought of doing a file transfer via the network, both camera and laptop are WiFi and Bluetooth compliant.

Have a great day.
