Can anyone tell me how to get a code to set the radio up please.

What model radio have you? I assume you already know the radio code.

Not all radios were coded, take it the unit is asking for a code. Check the driver's handbook, may be written in there. Another possibility is it may be written on the rear of the radio itself.
