Default Ebay bargain!

Well, here I am!

Heard from the seller yesterday and my stuff should be on its way Monday.
Hopefully I'll get it in time for next weekend!

In the meantime, I'll need to spend a few hours with the workshop manual so I will at least have an idea if there's anything missing.

It all seemed so simple when I started. Buy the bits, plug them in and off you go! Even once I realised it would be more complex, I thought "what the heck, get the bits and sort it out later".

Never that simple though, is it?

So this lot seemed like a godsend - all the bits in one place.

Then I had a look through this forum........

You will be hearing more from me !

Bill

Welcome on board.

If you search out Keith's thread on the subject, his thread is excellent in terms of content and photos.

I'm about to embark on a similar project, and I managed to get photo's of mine as it was uninstalled.

From what I've seen, it's straight forward and the hardest part appears to be taking all the trim in and out.Good luck...

Default Satnav installation

David,

I'll try to remember to take photo's as I go.
I was worried that the dash wiring might have been butchered to fit the non-standard Sony radio/cd unit that's in there at present.

But Then I realised that he satnav head unit doesn't use the normal radio connections - they're all in the boot! Or rather, they will be once I get the harness sorted.

I'm looking forward to getting started on this. It will also be an excellent opportunity to really get to know my way around the car.

Roll on next weekend!

Bill

The first problem I came across was the CD changer which I'd previously moved from the glove box to the boot. On the highline set up in lives in teh glovebox, but rather then move it back I've relocated it again in the boot, as the nav computer goes in place of the CD changer......

Welcome Bill, we are very curious in your progress. I had mine done a month ago. See my thread: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ead.php?t=3629

Shouldn't be a problem then Greeners. I have mine in the glove box and that gave me troubles connecting it. When you have your CD changer inthe boot then symply connect it to the radio module using C0830 and C0941. See diagram.

Default ebay SatNav stuff has arrived!

Well, it took a while but finally a HUGE box of stuff arrived on my doorstep.

I now have:

Two head units (plus the other one I bought...)
CD Changer (plus the other one I bought...!)
SatNav DVD unit
GPS Antenna
TV Tuner
Radio Tuner unit
A small, grey box that I think is an antenna filter
A huge wiring harness with a million connectors. (well, quite a few!)

And the seller has just emailed to say he's found some mounting brackets which he's sending.

So all I have to do now is install it!

I'm hoping to be able to lay it all out and connect as much as possible before I try to install it in the car. Ideally I would like to power it all up and test it, but I have a feeling that won't be possible, but I need to spend a few days locked away with the wiring diagrams to be certain.

It will have to wait though, I'm in the middle of changing the clutch on my Barchetta and it's causing me grief. Managed to get the 'box back in yesterday, but now it seems that something inside the diff has got dislodged or broken as both output shafts will turn independently. Or maybe I was just too tired!

So I'm planning a quick look today, but I have a load of other stuff to do as well.

I'll post some pictures of all the satnav stuff next week.

Bill
