Clutch replacement for Rover 75 Tourer
Hi, I have been quoted £619.20 including VAT for a Clutch replacement for my 2003 Rover 75 1.8T Tourer by my local Garage. Is that a fair price or does anyone know a reliable cheaper repairer near Portsmouth. Regards Ken

Hi -depends on the hourly rate your garage charges - around here a garage will charge 40.00 per hour - a clutch is about a 5 hour job as the sub frame has to come off - so in my area 200.00 plus Vat = £240 labour charges - a 3 piece clutch set for my Turbo is about 200.00 - so i would be looking at 450.00. I would buy the clutch kit myself to make sure you get a decent one fitted - however if the garage source the clutch kit you would get a 2 years parts warranty from them -and some garages will refuse to fit parts not sourced by them.
As you are in the South i suspect your garage hourly rate will be more than 40.00 per hour.
